Frieze Sculpture Transforms Regent’s Park Into a Site of Discovery

Frieze Sculpture returns to The Regent’s Park this autumn (16 September – 1 November 2026) at the heart of London. Curated for a fourth year by Fatoş Üstek, Frieze Sculpture’s 14th edition includes 11 leading international artists whose work will be sited throughout the park’s historic English Gardens.  

Open for seven weeks, the free public art exhibition also coincides with Frieze London and Frieze Masters, which take place concurrently 14 – 18 October 2026. Extending the reach of the fairs into the public realm, the exhibition brings contemporary art to audiences throughout the autumn season and transforms the park into a site of discovery. Frieze Sculpture is part of London Sculpture Week 19 – 27 September 2026, a city-wide celebration of public art that unites five major initiatives: Frieze Sculpture, the Fourth Plinth, East Bank, Sculpture in the City and The Line.

Each of this year’s artists explores the notion of hybridity in a different way, from Angel Otero’s threshold-like doorway that leads down below the surface of the lawn to Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran’s vibrant dual-faced idol, and from Ivana Bašić’s powerful brutalist monument to Tarini Sethi‘s intricate stainless-steel screens depicting utopian scenes. Together, these works affirm the edition’s central vision: sculpture as a living, adaptive and expansive language.  

Featuring sculptural works that combine media, materials, techniques and cultural references, Frieze Sculpture will create an interconnected landscape shaped by spatial, social and environmental contexts. Rather than presenting the sculptures as objects in isolation, this year’s edition invites audiences to encounter them as a web of interactions linking materials, stories and communities with the natural environment.

A programme of free curator-led tours will be held in September and November. The tours take place in the English Gardens, commencing at the St. Andrew’s Gate entrance.

The Mtec Bursary has been awarded to Dom Art Gallery with Elena Nemkova for the artist’s new commission, Agony in the Garden, 2026, enabling them to realise ambitious new work and bring it to a broad public audience in The Regent’s Park. Launched in 2018, the Mtec Bursary helps galleries meet the installation and de-installation costs to participate in Frieze Sculpture. Mtec Fine Art provides the technical and logistical expertise required to bring the works to life in The Regent’s Park.
